  1 The Shining Light Academy began in a small bedroom as an after-school tutoring program to help support a handful of children from impoverished and illiterate families. Today, some of those children are now university graduates

  Thanks to your support, 35 students attended school on scholarship. Additionally, 8 students received college scholarships.

  Because of your support and the hard work of Shining Light, 200 girls are the first females in their communities to ever receive an education.

  Offering a brighter future through quality education. Shining Light provides high quality and affordable education to more than 1,000 children in troubled regions of Pakistan.

    Creative learning in a warm and nurturing environment. the Shining Light Academy provides over 600 children with one of the best educations in northern Pakistan.

  • Education Scholarships

    Education is not free in Pakistan. We’re working hard to make sure that even the most impoverished have the opportunity of an education.

  • Rural Village Schools

    Among many rugged, mountain communities, illiteracy rates are greater than 90%. We're dedicated to providing education opportunities to even the most isolated children in northern Pakistan.

  in the summer of 2010, heavy rains and extreme flooding caused the nation's most devastating natural disaster. As a response to the relief effort, Shining Light provided basic aid and more than 800 shelters to suffering families.

  160 and 40 women are learning to read and write in 7 different remote villages.

  Community Development Programs

  Meeting practical needs through short-term and sustainable projects. Through partnerships with local Gujjar leaders, SLI is able to help bring lasting change by providing education and basic necessities that help build these rural communities as a whole.
