Women’s Programs

Empowering Women

Providing greater opportunities through vocational skills training. We’ve taught more than 800 women practical skills that raise their social status, provide income, and give women and their families a better future.

Women’s Adult Literacy

Throughout the one year basic sewing course, attendees are provided with basic Urdu literacy courses to enhance literacy and business skills. In addition, throughout the rural communities we serve, additional Adult Literacy courses are offered. During these six month programs, students are taught letters, numbers, speaking skills and monthly exams emphasizing the skills of reading and writing.

Women’s Vocational Training Center

Through a year-long program, women are trained in the basics of sewing, knitting, embroidery, English and Urdu literacy skills, and business ethics. Upon graduation, each woman receives her own sewing machine so she can start her own business, or begin to meet the needs of her family. More than 800 women have graduated from this program, and many have gone on to create small businesses or have even begun teaching others their new skills as well.
