Rays of Hope: Sam and Matt Badeau
Shining Light International simply wouldn’t exist with out the support of our friends and followers. Everything that we do is made possible by your generous donations and commitment to the work we are doing in Northern Pakistan.
That’s why we’ve decided to celebrate YOU. Each month we will feature a Fan of the Month and give you a chance to hear from each other on what it is that drives you to be a part of Shining Light International.
Let us introduce you to: Sam and Matt Badeau
How did you first hear about SLI?
We first heard about SLI through our good friends, Sky and Ali. Through them we met the Directors of SLI who are the friendliest people! We then decided to join their community group that they led in their home last winter which has been a huge blessing in our life. We have since learned so much more about Shining Light and love to always hear about the updates.
What do you love about SLI?
We love that SLI is establishing community schools in an area of the world that is so difficult. The passion that SLI has to educate both men and women through God’s love is amazing. We love seeing the women who go through the vocational training and receive a sewing machine at graduation. We love hearing stories of how women’s roles in Pakistani societies are changing in a positive way through education. The ways SLI has worked is changing lives in both Pakistan and the USA.
What upcoming projects are you most excited about?
We are very excited to see what happens if Shining Light in Pakistan could own some land for another school to be built. We are always so excited to hear about the people in Pakistan and learn how the education they received has deeply changed their lives. We feel very blessed to know the staff so closely and be able to hear updates.
Why should others become involved with Shining Light?
Being involved with giving monthly is a way to really contribute to the work in Pakistan even though we live in the USA. We feel very thankful that we are able to be apart of SLI and the work it continues to do.
