Ray of Hope: Whitney Willet
Shining Light International simply wouldn’t exist with out the support of our friends and followers. Everything that we do is made possible by your generous donations and commitment to the work we are doing in Northern Pakistan.
That’s why we’ve decided to celebrate YOU. Each month we will be featuring a “Fan of the Month” and give you a chance to hear from each other on what it is that drives you to be a part of Shining Light International.
Let us introduce you to: Whitney Willet
Whitney is someone that when you encounter her, you want to sit and soak in every word she says. She has traveled all over the world serving the most oppressed, forgotten, and hurting populations of Taiwan, India, and Bangladesh, to name a few. Compassion oozes out of her and her commitment to pouring herself out for others is contagious.
We decided to feature Whitney as our “Fan of the Month” not just because she is so awesome, but also because she has been a fervent cheerleader for Shining Light International these past few months. Whenever we are raising funds for a major project in Pakistan, Whitney is quick to share about it on her Facebook wall, and repost our photos on her Instagram feed and spread the word about what we are doing.
Whitney, thank you for cheering us on. It reminds us to keep on SHINING THE LIGHT.

Let’s hear from Whitney, about why she has chosen to stay in touch with SLI:
How did you hear about Shining Light International?
I recently started following Shining Light’s Instagram feed because my friend Kezia McNab posts the photos. We used to work together for a non-profit in Hawaii.
What do you love about Shining Light?
I love that Shining Light is out in some of the most difficult regions of the world, impacting people through education and community development. But I personally love seeing all of their beautiful posts on Facebook and Instagram! I feel more connected with the women across the world.
Which SLI projects are you most excited about?
I am excited about Shining Light’s WHOLE vision to empower the women and children of Pakistan. I am anxious to hear if there will be more development with a midwife and nurses program too!
What is one reason why others should follow SLI and stay up to date?
I think people should follow SLI because you never know how you may be led to get involved. Any of the posts from Shining Light might grab someone and draw them into a deeper destiny in life. It is also a great way to stay connected to the reality of what is going on in the world.
