That’s why we’ve decided to celebrate YOU. Each month we will be featuring a Fan of the Month and give you a chance to hear from each other on what it is that drives you to be a part of Shining Light International.
Let us introduce you to: Wes and Emily Goodwin
How did you first hear about SLI?
I (Wes) have been around Shining Light from the very beginning! I grew up with the founders- Mike and Robin Gordon, in Cimarron and was able to see their dream unfold over the early years. I was also able to visit the organization and it’s programs in Pakistan several times. Being able to see the work first hand was life changing.
What do you love about SLI?
I love the fact that SLI partners with the local community to find out what the actual needs are in the area, and then comes alongside them to accomplish each goal.
What upcoming projects are you most excited about?
I’m pretty excited about the possibility of acquiring land for Shining Light and being able to build a new school to accommodate all of the areas growing needs. I also really like the breakthrough with the Gujjars educating their girls!
Why should others become involved with Shining Light?
The reason we are involved and want to be involved is the fact that we are part of a work that I know has a higher purpose. We just want to do whatever we can to support and be a part of this great work!
